Field Operations Briefing — Week of September 13, 2026

This Week in Field Operations

DSD operators are doubling down on AI and platform consolidation. PepsiCo just detailed how it replaced 40+ standalone apps with a single cloud-native DSD platform for 25,000 field reps. Mondelez is deploying AI-driven automation across its U.S. distribution centers. And new conversational AI tools are reaching the warehouse floor, letting workers pull operational data by voice.

On the Dynamics Mobile side, we published a new feature highlight on electronic document delivery — closing the loop on every field visit with multi-channel document delivery. Plus practical guides on last-mile delivery exceptions and strategic warehouse KPIs.

Product Spotlight: Electronic Document Delivery

This week's new feature highlight covers a capability every Field Sales and Field Service deployment gets out of the box: electronic document delivery.

When a rep closes a visit, the platform automatically generates and sends invoices, receipts, delivery notes, and service records through the customer's preferred channel — email, WhatsApp, Viber, or SMS. No printing. No end-of-day back-office bottleneck. The ERP syncs the document record as part of the standard transaction flow to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Finance & Operations.

For organizations operating across multiple territories where communication preferences vary by market, the multi-channel approach means one configuration covers every customer. Supervisors get a searchable electronic document register with delivery status tracking. The back office can preview, download, or re-send any document without calling the field rep.
